Who am I
GV Sreekumar is Professor and Head of Industrial Design Centre, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
According to his design is a divine activity which aims to improve an experience or solve a problem or create innovative ideas, products and/or experiences which transcend boundaries of physical senses. He believes in the humanistic approach to design pedagogy, giving students time and space to experiment, observe, infer and learn. He appreciates and develops each student's inherent qualities and personal interests.
Prior to joining IDC, he has been an Infographics designer, Art Director and cartoonist with prominent names in print media including Times of India Group, Outlook, Chip Magazine, Indian Express etc. Prof Sreekumar has an M Des in Visual Communication from IDC, IIT Bombay, and Bachelors in Applied Arts from M.S. University, Vadodara. He teaches Typography, Publication design, Human Anatomy, Calligraphy, Digital Imaging, Font Design etc.
